Evans Takes Close Game at Columbia

Evans Knights 37, Columbia Raiders 35 (Boys)
11-2-12

After making two free throws to tie the game at 35 in the final seconds of the fourth quarter, Evans' Choice Dorsey stole the ball and made a layup to give the Knights a 37-35 road victory against Columbia.

The Raiders Get Instructions
After the teams traded baskets and leads for much of the game, Columbia's Koby Nobles made a bank shot in the fourth quarter to give Columbia a 33-30 lead.  But Evans' Duvall Cardwell answered with a three point play to tie the game before a layup by Columbia's Josh Mackie with 55 seconds remaining set up Dorsey's late game heroics.

Dorsey has played well all season, and Friday's performance was no exception, as the sharp shooting guard scored in a variety of ways, leading the team with 14 points.

The Raiders got balanced scoring from the trio of Terrell Fallon, Josh Mackie, and Koby Nobles.

The Knights improved to 3-1 and stay within striking distance of Lakeside's 4-0 mark.  Evans will travel to Harlem Wednesday.  Columbia (1-3) will host Grovetown at Grovetown High School.
